Hiervandaan/From here on/Ndisuka is a public art intervention in Stellenbosch which explores the past, present and future though artworks and installations. Curated by Vulindlela Nyoni, head of Printmaking at the Stellenbosch University Visual Arts Department, the outdoor exhibition takes place throughout the town centre from June 2016 to June 2017. The exhibition is designed to stimulate conversation and question how we see the world. Each site has been chosen as a catalyst for creativity and interaction, and the works are created by some of Southern Africa’s finest artists in their disciplines. The installations create conversation points for people from all walks of life, bridging the invisible boundaries that divide us. Stellenbosch is fast becoming a public art destination for local and international visitors, which contributes to the town’s tourism offering and the local economy as a whole.
